The interview process was thorough and it consisted of the following:
1. Initial 30-minute phone call with a recruiter to see if I appeared to be a good fit and to discuss my interest in Glassdoor. We discussed my background in a high-level way, the nature of the CSM role and the employment benefits on offer at Glassdoor. I was also provided with information about the interview process going forward.
2. Phone interview with a hiring manager in the Customer Success team. This involved a deeper dive into my background to make sure I was qualified and included some situational/behavioral questions. Here it pays to exhibit your enthusiasm and have some specific examples of your relevant work product. I was also provided with more information regarding the specific requirements of the role, the team's strategic direction, and information about career growth opportunities.
3. Received an email from the recruiter inviting me to move to the next stage: A ~ 1-hour assignment to be completed online, then a 15-20-minute mock onboarding PowerPoint presentation followed by a series of one-on-one interviews onsite at the Mill Valley office.
4. The assignment required short-answer responses to some questions regarding three different customer scenarios you may encounter as a CSM at Glassdoor. The assignment was a valuable experience because it gave me a sense of the real-world responsibilities Glassdoor CSMs have in managing customer relationships and put the topics to be covered in the onsite presentation into sharper focus. Before completing the assignment, you will definitely need to have done some thorough research on Glassdoor's products and business model.
5. Onsite interview/presentation. I went straight into the presentation with three members of the Customer Success team playing various roles for a fictional customer. Do your research, discuss the product value proposition and try to uncover additional opportunity without going into the weeds. Immediately after the presentation, I had three 30-minute one-on-one interviews with the members of the team who had evaluated my presentation. I was asked more situational/behavioral questions and was given the opportunity to ask any questions that I had. This was a great way to crystallize everything I had learned about the role/company and brought the interview process to a conclusion.
While lengthy, the interview process was efficient and fair. I came away with a great impression of Glassdoor and its people. Everyone I interviewed with was incredibly helpful and friendly.
Their enthusiasm for the company and their work was evident. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I couldn't be happier to join the team!
