Interview
An insight day first where you can talk to them and to people currently on the course or employed as IT consultant project managers. Then an invite to an assessment. Then start the course. It's all very straightforward and they keep you informed during each stage. They expect you to be in smart business attire at all times. No brown shoes!

I applied online. I interviewed at FDM Group (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2016
Interview
Well, This is an IT company, so if you write Unix, Linux etc you have a better chance. There is 2 way of working with this company: 1) going through their " training and replacement" process 2) apply directly. I applied for the training and replacement process. If you are an electrical or/and computer engineer or any kind of engineer please don't bother with this process. Go and apply directly for one of the jobs that interest you. You can learn whatever needs to be learn through internet really easy.
They start with a recruiter on the phone "interview". The purpose of this interview is that to find out do you have any idea what you actually get into! As you probably know this is 2 year bonded contract which pays you 40k for the first year and 45k for the second (they recently raise this pay! it was even less!) Also if you breach the contract you got to pay 30k! for the training and investment they did on you! ( the training is not worth that much!) There is no way you fail this so don't sweat it that much
Next round is the assessment day! you go through 2 round of 7 minutes interview ( one technical and one behavioral) and bunch of math, logic, etc problem! If you are an engineer don't sweat the tests that much. It's in grade 9 and 10 level. They give you a link for youtube videos to watch before assessment day in a brochure just watch those to refresh your memory!
As you now! this is a day so you got too much time to waste! For that they give you bunch of puzzles and they claim that you are being watched through the process and how you tackle this problems! ( They treat you as a kid!) There is no way you've being watched, there is no camera and the room's door is close! some of the questions are interesting and challenging though.
Eat a good breakfast, they give you a tinny lunch at 1 P.M which in my case was 6inch subway and I forgot to eat a good breakfast so I was starving.
Summary:
If you are in your 20s and interested in IT work sure go for it! if you are in your 30s and have no clue how IT industry work go through the process to learn. If you don't speak a good English or you are a shy guy this is not bad for you. The thing they do make sense if the bonding contract was a year not 2!
