I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at EY (Tampa, FL) in Feb 2014
Interview
The process typically starts with career fair, where you meet the recruiters and talk to them about opportunities. However, you should be in contact wth the recruiters weeks before the process begins, usually through Firm sponsored social events or LinkedIn. Networking is key in this field. From there, there was a selection of candidates for on-campus interviews. After those interviews took place, if you were selected, you are invited to a 2-day Office Visit interview where the firm takes you out to a nice dinner and social dessert gathering with senior managers and partners to gather an understanding of a candidate's personality. On day 2, interviews start early and include an office tour. I had three one on one interviews with partners and managers and one group panel "discussion" non-interview with staff and senior level associates. Every member, however, is able to rate each of the candidates that are interviewing. After the interviews, I received a call the following week regarding an offer for start that immediate Summer term, which at the time was 2 months away. EY typically hires much farther in advance but the opportunity was there.
