They process took longer than I was hoping. My initial conversation was with a recruiter. I was then introduced to hiring manager. I think spoke to a peer and a sales rep. Also had to take a technical test.
it was a Straight forward interview process but I really didn't know what they were exactly looking for. The interview process seemed normal but I don't know what we were graded on.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Databricks in Jan 2025
Interview
The initial contact via email was professional and welcoming, which set a positive tone. Unfortunately, the first interview experience did not live up to expectations. During the interview, I found it challenging to communicate effectively as the recruiter seemed to be less engaged in actively listening. The conversation was overly focused on specific quantitative targets achieved in my previous roles, making it difficult to discuss my strengths and weaknesses in a broader context. Additionally, the recruiter frequently said, "Let me rephrase that," and at one point even asked a completely different question, which left me feeling as though I had misunderstood every question. This approach created an uncomfortable environment and made the interview feel disjointed and unclear.
While I understand the importance of performance metrics, I believe a more open and conversational approach would have made for a more respectful and constructive interview experience
