I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Databricks (Melbourne)
Interview
The process started with HR round and then moved onto take hole technical coding round. It was followed by technical round and a final panel interview. They moved between interviews pretty quickly. There was a prep call with the HM as well. After the final round they did not even have courtesy to give feedback or the outcome. There was radio silence and I figured out it was a rejection.

Question 1
Fire and forget questions like describe spark architecture, OLAP vs OLTP etc
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Databricks in Sep 2025
Interview
Rejected in last round as they found a cheaper candidate. No concrete feedback shared yet. There were many rounds to prepare a candidate but then there is no proper feedback which help you get an offer.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Databricks in Aug 2025
Interview
I was invited to Brickfest and got a free interview from that. The interview was slightly harder than made expected at Brickfest, but still pretty easy overall (lc medium ish). It was suggested to me that the interview would be implementation-type questions rather than leetcode, but the interview was still leetcode. After passing the interview, I was pretty aggressively pressed by the recruiter about my other offers and interview processes, which reflected poorly on the company culture (few of my friends had this experience as well). I would've done the final onsite to see what they're offering, but the 5 hour total duration was way too long and I'd rather spend time prepping for my other interviews so I dropped out. Interviewers are nice and Brickfest was fun though.

Question 1
What other companies are you in process with, at what stage, and what's the deadline? Do you have offers from any other companies? How do you weigh Databricks against those other offers?
