I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boeing in Apr 2013
Interview
Interviewees were flown out to SC the evening before the interview. The interview process took an entire day, with different groups interviewing at different times. The first interview was a structured interview where you were asked about your experiences by two employees (one in HR and one in technology). The second was a group interview in which you were asked to solve a company problem.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Boeing (Charleston, SC) in Nov 2012
Interview
Contractor-Start by applying through the South Carolina unemployment system. Have to take and score above a 3 on standard test given by SCWorks (that you have to pay for). Interview at SCWorks. Go to a 2 week UNPAID training. Get hired by a contracting company based in Alabama for a 6 month to 1 year contract-benefits and pay suck. Go to Trident Tech, length depends on either being classified as Fabrication or Assembly. From there you work on the floor at Boeing, working as hard as everyone else but getting paid like you are in high school. After your initial contract nears the end, Boeing decides if they want you and if so presents you with an offer which is either take it or leave it. Pay usually raised to $14/hr or so and benefits start. Still have to do 3-6 month probationary period even though you have already been working there.
2 interviews, 1st interview asked behavioral questions, and asking about my previous work experience and technical projects. Few technical questions were asked about specific program languages or data structures. 2nd interview was a group interview in which moderators gave you and other candidates a real world problem. The group of candidates had to work together as a team to find a solution to present to the moderators when time ran out. My initial opinion was that there was a stiff company culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Not many difficult questions, just communicate well during the behavioral questions and take charge during the group interviews when you have something effective to contribute.
