I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Boeing (Saint Louis, MO) in Jun 2011
Interview
I was emailed and called to set up an interview. setting up the interview seemed straight forward and the individual who scheduled the interview was friendly. I was told it was going to be a phone interview and the email I received confirmed that. They called me at the appropriate time, but were shocked that I was under the impression it was a phone interview. They must have scrambled to find a phone to call me on to conduct the interview on the phone. It was a panel of 6 interviewers.

Interview
Applied online, got contacted to organize an interview within a week. Interview was an hour long. I basically spoke to two robots "engineering managers" who read questions off a script, asked the same question rephrased 3 times, and sounded like they had very little clue about software engineering or computer science at all. Halfway through the interview after answering the same question for the third time, I decided I didn't even want to work for a company with as embarrassing as an interview process as this. Practice your acting skills, polish up your stories, and you should do just fine.

Interview
Generally there is a phone screening first in which they ask you about work history and relevant experiences. Then it is a standard behavioral interview with a panel of three. Two are supposed to be managers, and there will always be a minority in the group. They ask a few questions about your education and background, then ask you to give situation, action, result type answers to the remaining questions. They generally will not discuss salary.
