Interview
I applied for the college at home advisor job. I didn't here back for months after replying and had kind of lost hope. Then I received an email to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview lasted about 20 mins. She asked general interview questions, not really technical based ones (benefits of team work, a time you negotiated with a customer, why do you want to work for apple etc.). I then received an email a few weeks later to schedule a technical assessment. This is done via an independent company. You launch an application which has a set number of questions. The question pops up on the screen and you have 20-30 seconds to prep for the question. It then begins recording you on your webcam..its like talking to yourself. You have 3 mins for each question. I found this difficult. A decent amount of preparation is needed. There was about 25ish questions and it took about 40 mins. I then received another email scheduling a skype interview with my team manager. This was like a mix of the two interviews. As with the phone interview, he outlined terms and conditions of the work. You must have an adequate workspace, internet etc. About a week later I got an email detailing a background check. This is just to ensure references are reliable and no criminal record etc. A week after this I received a call to tell me I had the job. Sample questions: name 3 internet browsers. A customer drops their phone and it won't respond. What 3 questions would you ask them? Name 3 image formats. Name 3 music formats. Name 3 plug-ins. Describe iCloud. What is RAM? How would you deal with an angry customer? Name 3 operating systems. What is wifi? What is a modem/ router? A customer is having trouble connecting to the internet.. what 3 questions would you ask them?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Apple (Sídney) in May 2016
Interview
I read a lot on this board before my initial interview so this site helped out quite a lot. I've already posted twice (for each stage) of the interview process. THIS is my third and final review of the interview process.
I have gone through the phone interview. I was moved to facetime or skype interview in less than a week. 5 days I think it was.
After that, I was sent an email to see if I could attend a "Job Review" sitting with other candidates in a chat room. The job review was scheduled two weeks from the receipt of the letter. I replied with the date I could attend. Then, I received an Intent to Offer email a couple of days later a week before the Job Review. I replied to the Intent to Offer email.... a couple of days later. I received the actual Offer.
Overall for me this process was quite easy and painless. I was able to supply all relevant information in regards to past jobs and my BG check is clean as a whistle. If you have minor priors and trouble gathering information, you may struggle to move along quickly like I did.
I'm happy to say I accepted the offer and cannot be more thrilled to be working for such a kickass company.
Thanks to Glassdoor and all the prior interviewees for all of the reviews posted which helped me with my interviews.
