I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2021
Interview
I did a screeneing video interview with a recruiter, then soon after I had another video interview with a hiring manager. It was 3-way interview, and the interviewer was not on camera, but only a person who was taking notes was on camera.
Their focus on Leadership Principles and delving so deep into each question creates a really cold interview process. They focus on behavioral-based questions, which is fine, but then get so granule with additional follow-up questions that it gets a little silly.
"How did you know the spreadsheet you focused to track the data was focusing on the right thing? And how did you know a spreadsheet was the right method to collect this data? "
This method may work for engineering roles, but it didn't make a lot of sense for Executive Assistant roles, especially when you make it to the final rounds. You try to not repeat examples too often during the process, but on the 7th interview, you run out of material that you can talk that in depth about.
After completing the final round, I can't say I had a really good understanding of the role, what I would be doing and the people I would be working with.
