I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AT&T (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2012
Interview
It took a while, with a phone interview, I had to drive a couple hours to meet a recruiter, and then an interview with my future manager.
I lucked into the interview process according to the phone interviewer who told me they get thousands of applicants and only interview a couple. The phone interview was very easy, it was just basic stuff like would you be ok with the schedule and a commission based environment etc.
The recruiter was the hardest part. I had to drive pretty far away to meet with a woman who critiqued everything I did, which was more of her personality than something I think they are supposed to do. Anyways, they ask a lot of the same questions as the phone interview but then they throw in those interview questions that find out all about your personality. Like what would you do in this situation, what was your experience with this in the past etc.
The interview with my store manager was really just a formality. We scheduled it with the recruiter at the end and at that point I think she had already given me the green light really. So the store manager was just showing me around the store and making sure my personality was ok with him I guess. He didn't really ask me any questions just asked me if I'd be ok with the schedule etc.

Question 1
During the second interview process, she asked me several questions about what I would do and my experience was etc. She asked me to tell her a time I had to sell something to a customer, she asked me to tell her about a time I had to deal with a technology related malfunction etc.

AT&T's Retail Leadership Development Program recruits new graduated based mostly on Leadership potential. The interview process consists of a pre-screening phone interview, two skype interviews or a visit to headquarters. The position is great in that it hones your leadership skills by letting you take several leadership training courses. You also learn a great deal about Sales and building high performing teams, because essentially, that will be your main task for the next 2+ years after graduating from the program. When applying and accepting the position, make sure that you are the type of person who loves sales and loves driving for results. This means working 50+ hours a week (can increase to 90 hours during the most intense part of the program), interacting with customers and employees on a daily basis (not a back office type job!) and being ok with having little work-life balance during your first year (working 6/7 days a week). People with really thick skin and a competitive drive will flourish in this high pace environment that can be physically and mentalling draining. After endurnig it for 2+ years, you may be able to have the opportunity to grow in the company on sales or non-sales tracks.
