Received an automated email to complete a one-way interview, which is already a negative start for me. I prefer face-to-face interviews, whether it be virtually or in person. The first question I had to respond to via recording a video was "What is your salary expectations?". The initial interview is a candidate's first experience and view into a company, and this kind of start is not great. Had gotten an auto-reject a few days later, and then after the auto-reject, I got a request to complete another assessment for the very same job. Weird, unorganized, un-personable, no real person interaction.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One-way interview:
- What are your salary expectations?
- Tell us about a time...
- What is your experience with xyz related to role?
Very dynamic, business case presentation, however when I asked for a feedback to the recruiter manager I did not have answer about. The feedback of non go is also important to candidate keep growing
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ADP (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2025
Interview
Short and insightful, the interviewers were friendly, they asked real life questions and situational questions that geared towards the role, responsibilities and goal. I connected with them on a personal level and I look forward to similar opportunity in future.
