The Avangrid Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading energy company Avangrid Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced its recommitment to its national partnership with Feeding America®, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. Through a $250,000 grant, the Avangrid Foundation will fund 2.5 million meals distributed through the Feeding America network of local food banks and pantries. Just $1 in funding helps provide at least 10 meals secured by Feeding America® on behalf of local partner food banks.
The Avangrid Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading energy company Avangrid Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, announced that it has awarded the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) a $50,000 grant in support of their educational initiative, LabVenture: Building STEM skills for Maine. The grant will help the GMRI deliver immersive, hands-on science learning for approximately 8,300 middle school students across Maine.
Avangrid announced a strategic investment of $7 million to purchase five power transformers manufactured in Washington, Missouri by American manufacturer WEG Transformers USA. The investment, part of Avangrid’s plan to invest $18.5 million in grid infrastructure by 2028, underscores Avangrid’s commitment to strengthening the grid while supporting American manufacturing and local jobs.

Avangrid has announced that it has achieved commercial operations at its Camino Solar project in Kern County, California. The 57 MWdc (44 MWac) project, Avangrid’s seventh energy facility in California, is currently providing power to approximately 14,000 homes.
