Pros

Benefits are in line with other same-size companies. Some groups within the company function well... most do not.

Cons

Big political game. Unless you are friends (or neighbors -yes, that's happened) with someone, good luck advancing. Lots of internal promoting - whether or not you are qualified. Pays to suck up to the right people. Too many people put in positions where they know nothing and are unqualified. Leads to poor productivity, miscommunication and just in general - a very bad practice for the business. I work and support several groups within the company. Auto OEM are competent and talented (qualified) bunch of folks. Auto aftermarket - well... you can get the job if you know someone - don't worry about being qualified. You can fake it for a very long time. Hope you are good at taking abuse. General lighting - helps that you stomp your feet to get what you want. Or, if you are lucky, you are friends with the upper management. One of the worse corporate cultures I've ever seen. Backstabbing, lack of accountability, lack of caring for job, company or other co-workers. Like I said - some groups seem to function fine... engineering, corp comm, R&D for the most part. Seems like that middle "marketing" layer (and just about everyone has marketing in their title for some odd reason) is totally broken across B.U.s... Hostile environment. My advice is to stay away. At first, it will seem like a nice place to work, but only after a short amount of time, you'll realize you made a big mistake. I have been here for close to 10 years... in the beginning it was great - many good years. Recently (the last 3 years) its been hell. I'm on my way out - as soon as I can!

Pros

Nothing good to say at all.

Cons

Once deliberately assume more responsibilities, the employee will be overloaded and yet being seen by Management as non effective. Worse coorporation across different function as individual function is self-centered. Over-controlled by mother company.

Pros

The facility is clean and most of the staff are nice and enjoyable to work with. There are some great leaders amongst a sea of bad.

Cons

Management from top to bottom is running this company into the ground. Upper level management is addicted to making very poor financial decisions and site level technical management has zero accountability or interest in managing talent. There has been a very high turnover rate for technical talent, leaving most areas short staffed and underperforming. There is zero initiative to achieve any level of success other than the absolute lowest form of mediocrity at this facility. There is a definite "We can't do this" attitude. This is mostly so old guard members can keep living the highs of their successes from 15 years ago. Old guard staff are toxic and abusive and will accost you with zero consequence. Critical members of management are beyond retirement age and fall asleep during meetings or in their office. The plant manager has decided this is all acceptable behavior. There is almost no experience or outside thought in the key players that run this failing echo chamber. Very high turnover rate for technical staff yet management still blames the employees and refuses to take any accountability for the total lack of vision or interest in managing talent. The manufacturing equipment is mostly an outdated house of cards, completely farmed out with almost zero IP left. Despite utilizing ancient control and mechanical systems, with primitive machine designs from two decades again, management believes they are pushing the limits of technology. It is hard to imagine competing on a world class level with this kind of leadership. The plummeting stock price and exodus of talent would suggest it's not working.
