Pros

- Benefits and compensation can be good if you avoid falling into a forced ranking nightmare - It is a highly stable and reliable company - Increasing focus on corporate responsibility and community investment

Cons

- The forced ranking system whereby each unit must rank some of its team low and cut them out of rewards can hinder or totally kill the collaborative spirit, puts managers in a difficult spot, and is counterproductive - There is NO effort to help you develop or find new positions in the company - if they need to reduce headcount in one area, they just get rid of you without any thought to trying to find you something else first (I've seen very few exceptions to this in my 13 years with them)

Pros

Truly global company, lot of interesting people from different places in the world and different backgrounds, pay is competitive.

Cons

More time spent on politics and internal struggle than on satisfying the customers, low accountability at executive levels, discrepancy between internal values preached and actual execs' behaviours with employees (firing often arbitrary)

Pros

It's better than starving. Seriously, the money is ok, but raises are pitiful, and bonuses are meted out carelessly and often to the wrong people.

Cons

Upper managers keep their jobs by inventing new initiatives ever year or so, then quickly abandoning rhem in favor of something new. This makes them appear like they always have an active project., but is hell for those affected by their decisions. Promotions are very superficial. If you want to get ahead, women should be under 30 and wear short skirts, and men should be very loud and irritating. Both genders must run their mouths while saying nothing of real value. Just fill that dead airspace! Also, new hires are not trained very well and many are woefully lacking in necessary job-related skills.
