Pros

to earn an income however meager

Cons

A more often than not unlivable wage, poor benefits that are expensive given what you are paid, incompetent management more than happy to get someone fired rather than lose face, tendency to cater to customers regardless of how disrespectful they are toward employees

Pros

The only remotely good thing working at Wal-Mart were the other employees minus management.

Cons

Everything. I was hired as a cashier, but found myself going from department to department. Went to electronics, sporting goods (not even trained in it they just sent me back), had to go out for carts, etc. Pay is beyond crap (which is expected working at a grocery store) expect $7.50 (if you are lucky) as a cashier no matter your degree or experience, and expect to be treated like you are nothing by management (at least at the store I worked). As a cashier you are not allowed to 'associate' with other associates, but members of management will go to the front end of the store and chat away among themselves. Furthermore they just give the customers what they want no matter what the situation is.

Pros

Wal Mart is one of the companies that have been successful through the economic crisis. Their stock price has held its ground against similar companies such as Target, which actually lost 30% of value. Walmart provides an employee discount of 10% which can add up over a year.

Cons

Wal-Mart does so much business that I do not feel like I get to know my patients like I have in lower volume stores. As in any pharmacy, it is especially important for the tech help to show up at work promptly at Wal-Mart. It can be crippling if techs are late.
