Pros

I enjoyed working in the fast paced atmosphere of walmart. It continually gave me opportunities to excell and prove my work ethic. It also provided good pay and opportunity for professional growth to someone without a college education. The benefits were o.k. for the job. My overall experience was a good one.

Cons

It has ong hours during the holidays when you would like to be home with your family. There is also a lot of political bull crap that you have to deal with. It is hard for you to maintain a hard working environment without getting lazy people to call human resources on you.

Pros

Ease if obtaining job. Could get time of for important issues easily (most of the time)

Cons

A bit like working in a black hole. No real hope of career advancement unless you are inclined to <ahem> pucker up... sorry but not sure if there is a better way of putting that.

Pros

Very easy work and easy to move into hourly management. Very friendly customers for the most part. Bonuses and discounts are very nice to have if you buy a lot of non-essential items such as movies and junk food. You get to know a lot of different people while working with walmart. Once you have been there for a year you do get paid holidays and vacation but every company should provide this. Employee stock purchase is pretty nice as walmart is a nice stock to own.

Cons

Very low compensation and extremely hard to move into a salaried position. Watching activities that take place which you feel are not in the best interest for the company. Inflexible scheduling and excruciatingly hard to get time off when you want it. Wacky scheduling also causes some headaches if you have open availability (working until 10 p.m. then coming in at 7 a.m. the next day.) Trying to get answers from salaried members of management about practices that are being done by walmart can be frustrating. Not being able to buy black friday merchandise because you are working the day of.
