Pros

Really WANT to do the right thing, so there is an opportunity to have a voice in the company at the Home Office level. The culture is solid and we are seeing more of it lived out at the officer level. Benefits are not spectacular, but there is a good variety of options and they are affordable. At the manager level, bonus plans start at 20% of yearly salary and go up from there. Vacation time and moving expense is negotiable for management.

Cons

It can be difficult to get things done with the silos that have been built. Several of the divisions are just not talking to each other and duplication of work is rampant. If you don't like change, stay away. Opportunities for growing within the company are good, but were much better before we started hiring almost 80% of upper level openings from the outside.

Pros

Walmart has become so far away from what Sam Walton had intended it should change its name. They play favorites, unethical, and try to use anything they can against the associates when it suites them.

Cons

unethical...favorites....poor management....unreal expectations....over complicating everything. If Walmart would just adhere to th beliefs Sam Walton set forth the company would be in good shape.

Pros

It's a job. It gives you a working environment to work with a lot of interesting people as well as mingle with customers. Advancement is there if you really want it.

Cons

With the current economy Walmart is overloading its associates with double workload and as people would leave or move to another store many will not be replaced. Walmart corporate does not care how shorthanded you are, they just expect for the job to get done. Sometimes by cutting corners at the expence of health and safety of its associates and customers.
