Pros

If you claim to have built a solution that can scale heights, this is one place to confirm that claim. lots of data (stores, ecommerce, dcs etc). very big company (so lots of opportunities internally), good bonus. Will find really smart people at various levels. Lot of cultural changes after Jet acquisition (in a good way). unlimited PTO, friday lunch(not the best though), happy hours etc...

Cons

Adoption of new technologies takes significant time compared to other companies nearby due to their large scale and production impacts, hence learning/hands on gets impacted. Company wants to move at a greater pace but fails to realize that several underlying homegrown solutions/frameworks can't even scale.

Thank you for providing us with this feedback! I couldn’t agree with more, we have a great group of people who we are able to work with, and our culture is fantastic. With our accelerated growth, we have had some scaling concerns, but are continuing to push through. We want to keep the pace we have been growing at, and if you have suggestions on how we can better adopt our new technologies, I would love to hear them! - Jeremy K.

Pros

Salaries are fair There is some flexibility in schedules If you're willing to give up your life/family, you can contribute to some big things Bentonville isn't a great place for non-families

Cons

Work/life balance Health insurance is very bad - WM pays $300 to $600 toward your medical bills and then the rest is at-cost until you reach your very high deductible ($6k/person) Pressure to Perform - Getting the job done well is not enough. You must deliver at a caliber that is often unspecified, beyond the scope of your position and faster than ever. It's achievable but it comes at the expense of your free time. For all the effort, gratitude from Leadership is missing. Pay for Performance - WM implemented a mandatory curve in 2018. What is communicated to associates is that it's a fairer program, but in Leadership meetings it is known as a strategy to move certain people out of the company with the intention to draw in new talent.
