Pros

Decent exit opportunities. Decent benefits package. The idea of 'owning' your own category is initially what attracted me to the role, and some of my colleagues on other teams actually did have this experience, but unfortunately that was not my experience.

Cons

- Your experience at the company depends heavily on your manager and team. On my team, performance reviews were not based on anything concrete, and managers can choose to give you poor (or great) performance reviews based on silly things, like how loud you are in meetings, or whether they get along well with you. - No real ownership of category. All decisions are passed down by leadership, and there's little room to actually set a business strategy for the category. The category managers have 'ownership' and the category specialists are pretty much their assistants who carry out the menial tasks. At least that's how it was for me.

Pros

1. Good Benefits 2. Good collogues, freshers hired from reputed colleges 3. Good food and commute

Cons

1. Loads of politics b/w IDC and US. No coordination 2. No stress on improving the architecture of systems which are failing miserably 3. Tech stack which suits only walmart. No stress to use state of art tech 4. Management is terrible. they instill a load of bad strategy and politics into employee minds 5. Folks who are working will have to work 24/7 and those who dont are not bothered much. Both get the same hike and pay which is highly demotivating 6. Overall the work environment works on sycophancy

Pros

- Manager pay is good if you're hired externally (not promoted from within) - Work for the hourly associates is very easy in our sortable building, so you don't really get any pushback from them not wanting to do the job.

Cons

It's been invaded by Amazon and they don't know how to do anything unless they've already done it at Amazon. They're very closed off to any new ideas unless they did it there. A few of the things they've brought have been positive, but the culture is taking a severe beating. There is no transparency and it's every man for themselves. You don't get feedback. It's almost like they enjoy surprising you with performance ratings. They've given eval ratings on a curve the last couple of years. You cannot have your own opinion if it differs from theirs. Associate morale is in the toilet.
