Pros

Good management salary, yearly bonus based on sales, profit, customer survey. 4% yearly rrsp. Salary managers start with 3 weeks vacation and get 4 weeks at 5 years. 4 leave health and dental benefit package. Company keeps up with change in the retail market and is not going anywhere. Most associates and managers are easy to work with creating a positive atmosphere.

Cons

Most weeks have to work more then 45 hours to keep up with demand because you are salary you are not compensated for extra time. 95% of the time more work load then associate in your team to set you up for success. Very thankless job. Company is turning away for Sam Walton's vision for the company every year its less and less about the 3 basic beliefs. Respect for the individual, service to our customers, strive for excellence.

Pros

- worked at a store in Mississauga - Mostly friendly co-workers - Flexible with shifts - occasional lunches - STORE WAS CLEAN!!!!! - Good Benefits (10-20% entertainment, dining, etc...)

Cons

- not that many actually - people leaving without work being done - call-ins = left to work alone on a busy afternoon or evening - really strict about sick days: not everyone goes to the doctor when they're sick = pissed off management - this position is nasty, never again

Pros

At one time Wal-Mart was a great growing company that you felt secure with and had the potential for growth. As new leaders have been brought in, the organization is now shifting it's focus and long term associates become a liability. If you want a short career with a lot of volume, this could be an option.

Cons

Too much uncertainty with the direction of the company and most people are in the survival mode. Moral is extremely low, the constant layoffs have had nothing but a negative impact. Most are in survival mode fearing they are going to loose their jobs.
