Pros

Flexible hours, friendly customers (especially the regulars), good pay. Opportunity for FT or other advancement if you’re motivated. Great store to learn retail. Excellent employee discount and customer rewards program is also awesome.

Cons

Return policy is much too lenient and needs to change. Surely this contributes to needless shrink in store profits. Customers also take advantage of the policy — buy makeup or food, try it, then return it. Due to rampant theft, many products are now locked up, so employees are constantly being asked to unlock plexiglass cases for customers. Theft is the new reality in today’s inflated economy, but it’s truly a shame. No pro-rated PTO benefits for part-time is a drawback.
