Pros

A darling of Wall Street, very profitable, great knowledge and a leader in retail.

Cons

Does not have great respect for employees, "nepotism" runs rampant, and people management is very inconsistent.

Pros

Flexibility to be out of the store (in my role), profit sharing is solid and has a variety of good funds to choose from, salary is higher than average for the area and for the work involved.

Cons

The company is and has been changing exponentially throughout the last 5 years. Now a global company, outsiders are revamping the company to more closely mirror their European operations. Work-life balance is fair but can be difficult at times of the year and if you are a driven person. Leadership is as mixed as it comes. My current boss is horrible, my former boss was terrific. PTO policy is horrible and benefits were actually lost when they went to this new model.

Pros

Company is doing well overall and stock continues to go up New management should hopefully bring some new ideas and a different way of thinking Work life balance is fine overall, but some departments do work more than others

Cons

Career advancement is difficult unless you know the right people. Only a select few are promoted or rotated, while everyone else is forgotten Development of employees is lacking. Not many training opportunities Benefits and compensation are lacking. The company is cheap when it comes to its employees. Raises are less than 2% and pay is below market to begin with Systems are antiquated. Updates are underway but it will take some time Restructurings and layoffs have become the normal course of business over the last few years
