Pros

There are some very talented people still inside Wacker.

Cons

-Lots of changes at Wacker over the last 4 -5 years that seem to make upper management increasingly focussed upward (toward Germany) and forgetting about their employees at manager and below in the US. -There are very few upward career opportunities for Americans in the US. -Upper management is too disengaged from the realities of the business

Pros

1. Valuable exposure to specialized chemical vapor deposition processes and vast supporting plant infrastructure 2. Continuous learning atmosphere with diverse mentorship opportunities. 3. Supportive teammates dedicated to fostering collaboration and progress. 4. Ample opportunities for cross-departmental collaboration and diverse project engagement. 5. A slowly transitioning emphasis towards safety-first allows proactive employees to pioneer change.

Cons

1. Elevated employee turnover creates frequent team adjustments and instability along with large gaps in the experience needed to operate safely and efficiently. 2. Senior leadership's detachment and infrequent communication can lead to feelings of isolation. 3. Middle management, while dedicated, often appears overwhelmed and under-supported. 4. Persisting remnants of a "don't ask, don't tell" mentality contrast starkly against a growing demand for transparent safety measures. 5. Local managers, despite their understanding of ground realities, are frequently handcuffed by upper management's decisions. 6. An often elusive HR department struggles with transparency, fails to comprehend plant-floor challenges, and unfortunately has a reputation for overpromising and underdelivering.
