Pros

It is a huge company There are some great people

Cons

They don't let the Americans lead the efforts locally, the ego and politics of leadership supersedes what's right and bureaucracy is widespread and chronic. You will meet production milestones and still get subpar bonuses, 2% cost of living raises Even after the event, the take aways still aren't being addressed. It is only a matter of time before something happens again due to bad decision making and poor PSM Over 65% turnover in the Engineering department, best practices and sound Engineering principles are not followed because the only priority is production, ALWAYS.

Pros

- Great place to get on the job experience - Pay was getting increased when I was leaving. Entry pay was $21 and the new top out is $30.25 for Silanes/Poly operators after about 7 years. - The area around Charleston, TN is a great place to raise a family. There are many great schools and communities. - The plant is brand new and system components work like they should. New additions like HDK, etc. are coming down the pipeline which means more of a profit margin for Wacker which in turn should mean better benefits for workers.

Cons

- Shift work of course. 6-6 rotating shifts. - HR is oblivious to workers wants and needs. We asked for a pay raise for 3 years because we had many great operators leaving for better jobs. It took them a long time to finally listen. That is why I feel that the knowledge that the German mentors instilled in the operators at start-up is gone/dwindling. - Very volatile and dangerous chemicals. It takes an experienced and knowledgeable worker to treat the chemicals with the care they deserve. - The hydrogen compressor explosion. (9/7/17) The explosion really put things in perspective for me.
