Pros

Generous bonus structure; other perks including charity/personal development days in addition to annual leave.

Cons

A place where good ideas go to die. Overflowing with useless middle managers who at best are benignly ineffectual and at worst are actively obstructive. Senior managers preach platitudes and meaningless mantras which are listened to with glazed eyes then later sniggered at around the water cooler for being so utterly out of touch with reality. A lot of promising talent hiding lower down in the pecking order whose careers will never prosper here because credit for their achievements will either get lost in the mail or be received & enjoyed by their managers. Next to no chance of promotions from within unless someone above you leaves. Asinine remote working policy compelling employees to come into office 8 days per month when working culture encourages endless meetings which must be online due to high degree of offshore (temp) staff. The upcoming merger will give us an enormous competitive advantage in terms of market share but we'll still find a way of machine-gunning ourselves in the feet.

Pros

As far as a bluechip corporate goes, very strong in the way of employee benefits for FTE's. Generous pension, various perks, and good holiday and mat/pat leave. The better leaders are genuinely good at listening and (at least trying to) take actions in the interests of their teams.

Cons

Your experience is highly dictated by your department and team. Senior leadership has high turnover, and with each change, there's always a team or two on the chopping block (presumably to boost shareholders value for the short term). Also - recently, strong move towards acquiring more offshore employees, while simultaneously cutting headcount and cracking down on back-to-office.
