Pros

Good salary and bonus Access to a lot of training modules online Interesting technology Surrounded by super clever people Very international community Modern campus with a lake You can never run out of great coffee as there is a café in each of the 6 buildings Possibility of working at the Paddington office in the future Good work life balance as possibility to work from home a couple of days a week

Cons

Political alliance can make or break you If you are not part of the "in-crowd", you can be at risk at the end of the financial year (March): there is a redundancy programme every year The catering company offers mediocre food at extortionate prices Newbury is in the middle of nowhere, not conducive to socialising after work

Pros

Job was interesting, worked on tickets for many different companies fixing network and voice faults

Cons

There isn't a good manager in the entire company, all the managers in my experience were people from call centres and/or who had been bullied at school with a grudge for everyone. It was an IT office not a call centre but it got treated like the latter yet you had people sniping left right and centre making up lies and brown-nosing just for a promotion

Middle 'Micro' Management + Disastrous HR

Pros

Work life balance Salary is pretty good

Cons

APAC enterprise arm predominantly run by middle aged white management whom do not care about their teams, purely only protect and promote those who always say 'YES'. Very much a favorite 'golden child/boy' culture. Middle-management aren't the smartest tools in the box neither. Micromanagement at it's best! HR cannot be trusted or even be confidential, let alone actually know what they're doing half of the time. Worst HR team I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Total amateurs. Bonus and/or salary increase can be non-existent. Good people leave!
