Pros

Great office buildings with lots of facilities. Free office phone with unlimited calling and data. Big brand in UK & worldwide so stands out in CV. Good pay, equivalent to what companies pay in London

Cons

The office is in Newbury which has very poor train connectivity. Trains are frequently late. Although the pay is good the amount of workload is also very heavy. They make sure they get more than the money's worth. Most employees are from around Newbury area and have been there for years. No real talent. When some senior managers are shown the door due to poor performance he/she then applies for a different role in different department within voda. So the incompetence is recycled from one department to other. These are the same people who are part of the 'Newbury Group' and get hired despite their incompetence. Voda struggles attracting talent from London areas due to hq based far away. Although it’s a telecommunications company the communication between different departments is very poor. Showing how busy you are and talking about it is like a fashion. Everybody keeps talking about how busy they are & keep talking about it for an hour(shows how busy they really are). Lot of internal politics, red tape. I guess that is one big reason Voda is finding it difficult to keep up with the competition. Flexibility in working hours depends on your line manager.

Pros

laptop facility is available, mobile bill waiver, location is very good. External Cafeteria facility is good.

Cons

1) No further career opportunities. 2) No Tax saving option, therefore if you get 2 Lakhs hike in Vodafone, the take home will remain same. 3) Finance team is horrible. Salary stop without any notification is very common here. Later when you have no salary, then you need to investigate, why that happened? They may release the amount basis on your efforts, but for 10-15 days person need to manage without any salary. 4) Salary increment happened as per Bell curve. So even if deliverables are completed, you may get low rating. 5) They have transport facility, but it is pathetic. 6) WFH facility is available, but subject to managers approval and manager don’t approve. 7) Buttering is at its best in here. 8) Big time politics. 9) HR Team only note down, issues but no actions. Suggestion, if you still planning to join VISPL or VSSI, Please check your band, it should be F or higher and pay hike should be more than 5 Lakhs, since you will not get further hikes, due to bell curve.

Pros

Good discount on products Great 4G Service

Cons

Mis-guided company, only surviving based on their actually size! Back end systems outdated, HO totally out of touch with the high street, and senior mgmnt have blinkers on. Such a shame, and could be a great british brand. That said, their 4G is still the best.
