Pros

- After a 4-year "progression" period, full-time drivers reach "top scale" pay. As of 2024–2025, top-rate drivers earn roughly $45–$49 per hour. With overtime, many drivers earn over $100,000 annually. - Once you leave the building for your route, you are largely on your own. There is no boss physically standing over your shoulder, allowing you to manage your day as long as you follow safety and delivery protocols.

Cons

his is a grueling job. You will be in and out of the truck 150–250 times a day, often carrying packages up to 70 lbs (and sometimes 150 lbs with a dolly). Chronic knee, back, and shoulder issues are common among career drivers.
