What sets this company apart is their genuine commitment to valuing not just your professional development but also your personal time. The leadership team here understands the importance of work-life balance, fostering a positive and supportive environment that allows employees to thrive both personally and professionally. They prioritize employee well-being and actively encourage a healthy balance, which has significantly contributed to a positive work atmosphere. The company's focus on individual growth is evident through various initiatives, mentorship programs, and continuous learning opportunities. They provide resources and support to help you reach your full potential, making it an ideal place for those looking to advance their skills and climb the career ladder. In summary, if you're seeking a small-sized tech startup that values your personal time while fostering significant professional growth, look no further. Cons

My experience at this small-sized tech startup has been overwhelmingly positive when it comes to personal growth and work-life balance. However, it's crucial to address a notable concern regarding transparency about future shifts, especially during downsizing. While the company is excellent in fostering professional development, the lack of clarity regarding downsizing plans can be a source of anxiety. The absence of a transparent communication strategy about potential changes in the organization can leave employees uncertain about their future within the company. It's essential for the leadership team to prioritize open and honest communication, especially during challenging times. This will not only alleviate concerns but also contribute to a more trusting and resilient workforce. In conclusion, if the company can improve transparency regarding downsizing plans and future shifts, it would significantly enhance the overall employee experience. Despite this concern, the positive aspects of personal growth and work-life balance make it a noteworthy place to consider for those seeking a fulfilling career in a small-sized tech startup.

Pros

- Many talented employees due to strong recruiters

Cons

- Out of touch leadership who don’t attempt to listen to employees - Focus way too much on experiments (across the company) that fail - Vague picture of who we should be selling to and therefore unsure what to build - Constant layoffs and changes in direction - Severance packages are just mean - The loudest (and highest ranking) people make the decisions often on a whim - Employees are burned out and live in fear - Compensation is well below industry norm

Nothing to share, because read below.

Cons

I have to tell this story because what happened at Typeform is really a first for me in 15 years of professional career. I was never treated with such disregard and lack of professional respect. I interviewed with Typeform in October/November 2023, in parallel with 2 other (big)tech companies. I got to offer stage with all 3. While Typeform did not have the strongest offer in TC, they made serious efforts to match my expectations and sold a lot of hope, like an upcoming exit-event. They also provided great flexibility as a remote-first company. I accepted the offer at Typeform and proceeded to quit the role I currently had and also decline the 2 other offers I received. Then, 1 week before Christmas, the VP of People called me to tell me they rescind the offer and will not provide any support, neither financial, nor logistical, to be able to find another role. As a reason I was told that all hiring is frozen as a of executive changes. The VP of People deflected all responsibility in the call from himself -> to the board, so that he could feel "blameless" on the call and go on about how "this is so hard for him to do". Yeah, I can only imagine how hard this is for YOU, dude. This says EVERYTHING you need to know about this company. From all the people I met in the interviewing process that promised the moon & stars, not one of them came back to me to at least say "I'm sorry". While I am generally confident in my abilities and will bounce back from this, I could have done without this Xmas gift. :) My advice: during the interview process you will get sold very well on stories about how Typeform changed and how things are different now because "we have new, strong management". They are incredibly good at selling. Don't believe it. This is the type of company that will leave you out in the cold for the holidays and not think twice about it. :) Terrible business outlook for the next year - don't even consider it.
