Are you thinking of Joining TripAdvisor in Sales ? Do yourself a favour and just DON'T. Save yourself from Depression, Anxiety and a toxic environment that will ruin your life, confidence and dreams. TripAdvisor is a DOG (BCG matrix ) if you are not familiar with this term , it means that TripAdvisor passed it's stage of maturity and ready for collapse ( Just take a look at the share price if you need a visual confirmation ). TripAdvisor failed so many projects , who remember Trip+, Pipeline Builder, Social media Tripadvisor , Spotlight , reputation pro ( Speed doesn't always win my dear ) in the past few years and still sells a bunch of obsolete products and solutions, when i say obsolete it means that same product was sold in 2011 in an industry that evolves and needs proactive players . TripAdvisor doesnt care about making their customers happy, only caring about taking credit cards, Bumping revenue to return money to investors . it'a a game that i would call " Grab the money and run". TripAdvisor is like a sinking boat where you make sure to grab everything you can before it sinks. After Covid due the low quality of the role and markets getting saturated due the obsolete products sold since 2011 , having very little value to offer the business decided to move everything to a low cost destination such as Barcelona ,where they hire people asking the following question: Can You make 70 calls a Day ? Can you stay on the phone for this amount of time ? Call Center Vibe !! Same as when people used to knock at your door selling Pots and Pans or like books. You can imagine the quality of people that attracts, at the beginning i was shocked by the poor technical knowledge , till i realised that managers had even less knowledge. CALL MORE !! that was the job of your manager !! he could not tell you anything else ...." wait but my client has an issue , he can't see any results from our campaign " i don't care call more , next !! Imagine what kind of job satisfaction would be waking up every morning with reports of talk time ( not how much revenue you bring ) and your manager screaming pressuring you to make 70 calls to take money out of a poor B&B with 3 rooms selling a product that will never work due it's nature but i was forced to sell anyway. Now i know that the answer to my review will be some data taken somewhere that shows some growth , but believe me they are not healthy ! A Business that doesn't care about their clients will fail eventually . Let's talk about talents At TripAdvisor : Einstein once said if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." This is currently happening at TripAdvisor everyday , you got a great agent that knows how to build relationships and very savvy? Doesn't matter Cold Calling Gooooo.!!! There is no Opportunities of growth , that's why churn it's so high and only junior people are joining Tripadvisor at the moment. This is the attitude of a very Toxic and sad work environment !! During my last two years at TripAdvisor i suffered mentally from it, till reaching depression, i felt stuck in a humiliating role . Now i am in my new role and i feel happy because i feel valued and appreciated. (My new colleagues made fun of me for asking the question : Wait so the solution actually works ?? ) that made me realise in what kind of company i was working. Final words : TripAdvisor won't listen to this feedback , but you can !! Don't join a sinking boat only because in the past was a beautiful Ship!!!!
