Pros

Great overview of biotech industry and insight into different players. There are a few very knowledgeable people in the company that are interesting to speak to and huge resources to learn from. Supports their high performers

Cons

As an associate and even a consultant you have very little say in what you are going to do. You'll get pulled into projects that tank your utilization, meetings will be scheduled outside of your work hours. Everything is largely top-down and getting your buy-in is treated as optional. There are little to no opportunities to use more sophisticated analysis or build tools. Whether this is a problem or not depends on your skillset and what you want to do. Your days will revolve around meetings, powerpoint, word, and occasionally excel, but don't expect to learn anything beyond that. There's no SQL, VBA, macros, or statistics. Visualizations are usually just within powerpoint and tableu is not really used. Echoing previously made reviews, managers set a culture of attrition: Even on their PTO days they will check in multiple times a day, and you cannot set your own work boundaries if they are pinging you for things late into the night. This is not malicious, but you have some people that like to take a break around 5 or 6, then sign back on, and other that prefer to stay on for a bit longer then sign of for the entire night. Since we are often staffed on 2+ projects, you can be just wrapping something up for a project at 7pm when another manager hops back online and pings you for something else. Projects are scoped with an attitude of "you don't say no", and that can be seen in how we handle client requests; out-of-scope work is often added on, and we will deliver exactly what the client wants even if it isn't reasonable or is against our better judgement. Ultimately this is good for business, but the brunt of these decisions will be on your shoulders.

Thank you for sharing your experiences here. Certainly in agreement that managers are different in terms of their project and people management style. It can be difficult to juggle these different styles (communication on both sides is the most important, and we are training our managers on this!) - Trinity always has the best intentions with our employees and clients in mind, especially when making project-based decisions. We hope you took away some valuable experiences at Trinity during your short time here as you move to the next step in your career! - Sarah Zeoli

Pros

Salaries are among the highest around, with good benefits.

Cons

Management doesn't excel at the work we do. It's a huge company so easy to feel like an insignificant cog in a wheel.

Pros

Opportunity to work across variety of projects (in theory).

Cons

In actuality, there is no alignment between individual preferences and project staffing decisions, resulting in a recurrent assignment to projects that do not necessarily contribute to professional growth or provide learning opportunities. Within the ranks of Associate Consultants (AC), Consultants (C), and Senior Consultants (SC), the norm has evolved into extended workdays exceeding twelve hours. Regrettably, this has led to a discernible surge in burnout and a prevailing sentiment of job dissatisfaction, prompting a substantial portion of the workforce to remain engaged solely due to financial motivations. This collective dissatisfaction and low morale serve to create an environment where job dispassion is pervasive. It has become evident that managerial oversight regarding individual professional advancement is lacking, with limited attention devoted to fostering growth and development. A considerable quantum of time is expended on activities of an administrative nature, notably the meticulous revision of Excel and PowerPoint materials that often lack intrinsic significance. Salary and compensation do not commensurate with the extensive working hours that have become customary. The resulting incongruity between effort expended and remuneration received undermines the overall value proposition of the company. Taken holistically, the confluence of these elements impels the clear conclusion that this enterprise may not be a prudent avenue for prospective candidates seeking a fulfilling and rewarding professional journey.
