Pros

You can work at your own pace Payment is prompt

Cons

Very low pay ($20/audio hour) Jobs don't come in often. You can stay for days without getting a single job to do. Most jobs come with a horrible audio quality, which might lead to rejection if you do it.

Low Pay, Bad for Mental Health

Pros

If you have 10-12 hours a day to give to transcription, you might make a decent living.

Cons

My experience has made my mental health worse. My therapist agrees that this is a toxic company. The pay is awful. Transcriptionists do the hardest work but only receive a fraction of what's brought in for a job. (On a good day, I make roughly 28% of what a client pays for the service.) I do not make a living wage. The staff (TMs) are rude on Yammer. If you have an opinion they disagree with, they will gang up on you about it. Several members agree that toxic positivity is practiced. If you're not praising the company, they don't want to hear it. Review policies have no rhyme or reason. It could take a week; could take a month. No one will communicate anything about this to you, even if you ask questions. I never walk away from a day of transcribing without feeling depressed and angry with myself, that I've given so much time to this company for so little in return.

Not worth your time.

Pros

Easy to sign up Easy to use Work when you want

Cons

I type about 90 WPM and I'm making somewhere around $3.25 per hour doing this. It is nearly impossible to "manage" to get minimum wage. Unless you're able to listen, understand, and type 150 WPM all in one smooth motion you will not make money transcribing for this company.
