Good for extra income

Pros

Flexibility. You get paid by job or project. You take exams if you want to advance. No office politics. People are nice.

Cons

Pay is not enough to live on, not even in the Philippines. You maybe would need to plant yourself in front of your laptop if you want to earn enough to pay for all your bills which isn't healthy. This cannot be your main source of income.

Work from Home Job

Pros

Great work from home job.

Cons

Did not make as much money as hoped working part-time. Sometimes passing the transcription exam to stay current had some trick questions that were hard to pass (harder than what you would usually encounter doing transcription work!). They should let you keep taking the exam an unlimited amount of times until you pass.

Pros

Make a few coins while bored

Cons

Poor audio quality yet they review work harshly as if the audio is perfect. Little pay for a lot of hard work. Unfair work rejections and random blocking of accounts. Also, when they block your account you lose whatever money is in it as if you worked for nothing. Unfair. Waste of time. Discriminate against people from certain countries (3rd world mostly).

Hi, thank you for your comments. We do consider the quality of the audio while reviewing work as the QAs listen to the same audio as the transcriptionists. There are clear and set rules for rejecting a job, and they can be found in our documentation. QAs are also subject to review by our team of Reviewers and must maintain a minimum quality score to continue working as QAs. Rejections can be appealed by using the appropriate form, which is then reviewed by the admin team. If an account is blocked, it is not due to quality of work. Reasons for blocked accounts are also laid out in our documentation; it is not a decision made lightly or randomly. We do not discriminate against people from any country and have many people from Africa, Asia, Central and South America working with us, as well as from all over Europe and North America. We do have strict standards which each worker agrees to follow when they sign up.
