Self development accelerates at Thoughtworks

Pros

Self development is the area Thoughtworks does better than any company I know of. I have progressed my career so much faster than planned. Partly this is due to being a consultant an getting a lot of different experiences in a short time but also in Thoughtworks the support network helps amplify learning and there are endless courses, events, conferences, or books to learn from which Thoughtworks provide.

Cons

We might not be the best compensated in terms of salary for the effort and capabilities we have but for me all the other things you get from working at Thoughtworks outweigh this.

Pros

The people here is amazing and all the support you receive every day. You have flexibility to organise your time to learn new things. The salary is really good, specially if you are starting this journey as a developer. The transparency with all processes, salary, budget, feedback, clients, resources is amazing, it gives you this feeling of belonging to the company in a nice way.

Cons

The only thing I'm missing is a budget for home office equipment (a good table, chair, even headsets, because those are things you only use while working). The rest is amazing.

My perception is that they downplay experienced people in favour of those who started they carreer at the company

Cons

- Too much work/salary - They said salary increase would be based on feedback, and then they said the feedbacks are subjective and can't be used for this - A worldwide committee of people who you never met is the people who say how much salary you'll make based on those feedback
