Pros

The culture and team spirit.

Cons

As an outside sales rep they take advantage. Expected to cover a lrge territory often driving over an hour and a half with no gas compensation. Expected to generate own leads in the stores while providing basic customer service while wearing their apron (uniform) on own time with no compensation. Excpected to attend district and regional meetings and provide product training to store management and staff, with no compensation. 100% commision job based off one thing the final sale. Training is sub par focused on scripts and basic product knowledge. There is a small focus on teaching reps proper measure techniques to sale team. After sale is made a well trained measure technician follows the sale adjusts the poorly trained sales reps measurements then adjusts the pay scale making the salesman pay customer rates for mis measures essentially taking often large chunks of the sales commision back. In short they are taking advantages of the outside sales rep. Poor training, money adjustment with no transparency or recourse. Im deeply disappointed and quite frankly appalled they would treat employees like that and have people spend their own moneyand time training staff driving to appoinments providing customer service wearing their orange apron representing the brand and not paying. Shame on home depot.

Pros

None, you'll work for free!

Cons

Watch OUT! Because it's HD, you are lured into thinking this might be a legit opportunity, but its is not!. You will be told that you are going to get leads from the kitchen design department for cabinet refacing but the leads are from people walking around the store asking have you thought about have your kitchen remodeled in the next few years. It's free. Then HD sends you out to the home expects you to put on a 3 hour presentation for products that cost 3 times what they are in the store!!!!! You are paid only if you make a sale. FRAUD. HD just keeps replacing people and they use you as the true lead source and follow up on the your leads in the future for management and their chosen few. 4 of us were hired at the same time with years of sales experience sold nothing!!! But they ran us miles away from our home everyday at our own expense. HR are you aware????

Pros

When I was hired, I absolutely loved it. Pay wasn't great, but the management, training, and other employees made it worth it. Managers were fair and worked hard at making sure there was always coverage in every department, which kept the stress down. You could really tell the managers and supervisors wanted to make sure you were prepared before going out on the floor and were always available to answer questions. I really wish I could have stayed at this store.

Cons

When I transferred, the next store was awful. The managers and supervisors talked down to you routinely and it took an act of God to get their help. The HR manager was horrible, she had no idea how to schedule departments. This meant there was always about a 6 hour gap when there would only be 1 person covering several departments. This happened almost every day, which meant almost every one was unhappy, stressed, and running around like crazy trying to get help. They also refused to give me any amount of a raise, even though I had transferred into a "higher" position. The reason they kept using was that the store I came from had a higher starting pay rate, so I was being paid adequately. The manager in charge of supplies was terrible. She stopped buying industrial toilet paper and hand soap for the public restrooms, so we (and customers) were using small rolls that fell on the floor, rolled around, and became extremely gross. She wouldn't allow me to use the color printer (that was specifically for my position). It was a large inconvenience when I had to go to the front of the store, then back to my desk just for a customer invoice. I understand that you won't ALWAYS get along with management, but when you can't go 30 minutes without an argument, something needs to happen.
