Great atmosphere but usual corporate frustrations

- Stable company with growing market share - Relatively good pay for position - Move toward greater customer centricity - Nice colleagues

Cons

- Though big internal marketing towards career development, most management positions are hired from outside .. seems easier to land a position for non-Cigna employee than get promoted from within - Metrics-based evaluations leave little room for management to look beyond the numbers to accurately assess one's value to company... reps who get rid of customer quickest are rewarded without any evaluation of the quality of the encounter

Security and flexibility. There are many work at home opportunities. People are loyal and stay with the company. Loads of opportunity to change roles as needed.

Cons

Like any company, you have some people that need to go but we try and weed them out. Too much red tape. Need to update systems and applications faster.
