Pros

Cons

their job advertisement should read like this : Want to be micromanaged and treated like a robot ? - Perfect Job For You Want to be made to feel stupid in front of your peers ?- Perfect Job For You Want to be part of a drug and drinking culture ? - Perfect Job For You Want to have no integrity and lie to candidates and schools about fake jobs/profiles ? - Perfect Job For You Want to brownnose directors to get your foot in the door ? - Perfect Job For You Want to hear directors insulting staff and potential staff members ? - Perfect Job For you Want to work your contracted hours and made to feel like rubbish/guilty for leaving ? - Perfect Job For you Want to be treated like a child who cannot function without your hand being held by directors or a so called Trainer ? - Perfect Job For you Want a job with no option to progress unless you are part of the directors dream team ? - Perfect Job For you Want to be told you will make lots of money but in reality be better off on universal credit ? - Perfect Job For You

Pros

+ AGM and Christmas parties are good. The company invests a lot of money in these two events. + Birthday day off. + If you hit 100 days, you get free healthcare. + Incentives/bribes for you to leave the office early during the school holidays. + Offices and locations good standard.

Cons

- Opting out of the 48 hour working week agreement is pretty much necessary. You are asked to work hours outside of your contract and have calls diverted to you out of hours. - Salary is poor as is the commission scheme. If you do your sums, when you first start working for TeacherActive you will be paid below minimum wage. - You are heavily encouraged to hand out your personal mobile number to schools. You are not given a company phone or laptop and expected to dish your personal mobile number out to everyone under the sun. It even gets printed on your business cards! - Not allowed to take any holidays during the term time. Want to take your partner on a weekend away for their birthday? Forget it. Take an afternoon off for a funeral? You’ll have to take that unpaid. - ‘If your face fits’ culture. You hear about the same people constantly. If you aren’t part of the exclusive group then be prepared to just feel like a number. - Heavily focussed on profit and not a lot else. - Progression is very slow and a promotion doesn’t bring a great deal of financial reward. - Having to advertise for jobs that don’t exist.
