With the new CEO, there are a lot of changes. Time will tell if they are good or bad.

Pros

Target is a great place to launch a career. I'm sure thousands of reviews say this, but it makes it no less true. They pluck candidates from Universities all of the country, and bring together these young minds into training classes, so your first few months on the job you're learning the company the business with people your age, very easy transition from college, and a built in social network for all of the transplants into the city. Post training you're given a business to run. As an Business Analyst you're responsible for all of the inventory for your category. While working with your team you do have autonomy to run your business, this lead to me, as a 23 yr old, spending $300M in one year on my category, and you own every step of forecasting, allocating and identifying areas of opportunities. Also they pay is competitive, you won't come out rich, but you'll be comfortable and able to enjoy and afford going out with friends, Happy Hours and concerts.

Cons

Target is a large company, with many agendas and initiatives going on concurrently, often conflicting, this causes some swirl and frustration when trying to drive your business by the number of partners you need to take on and to explain it just right to each person so it servies their priories. In short, there's a lot of corporate BS needed to get anything done, and this leads to more amiable people progressing quicker that others who are more talented but lack the patience to wade through all of the corporate layers. Target is undergoing transformation to slim down and become a faster corporation, I think it will help but at the end of the day, the corporate levels and priorities are part of working at a large company. I would let this influence how long you stay, but it doesn't change it from being a great place to start as you'll get more responsibility here, than at most smaller firms that wouldn't have this complication.
