Pros

The insurance package is good coverage at low cost. Annual and sick leave are part of the benifits. Good yearly bonus if employee is lucky. Due to the nature of the job, developing close relationships with a solid support system with co-workers iis enevitable. If an employee is well liked there are more opportunities for advancement, pay increase and bonuses. There are opportunities to increase job skills easily with provided training and easily expand present job skill set. No- cost resume/ career coach and no cost program for learning a second language.

Cons

Opportunity for advancement is slender. Pay scale is unfair compared to other Federal employees. Raises are poor if approved. Strict policies about leave, dress and attendence (Memo goes in file after first tardiness, 2 memos can loose year bonus and year pay raise), (Only one person can have off during busy season even in case of emergency), (3 unscheduled days for any reason, an employee calls in , leaves early or is tardy in a 6 month period is called in to supervisor for a meeting about attendaance and disapline). On the job testing daily. Yearly test in which, one doesn't pass results in loss of job. Bonuses and raises are based on a particulair opinion of assigned supervisor in which each has a different criteria on how to grade plus an employee is moved throughout the year from sup to sup. Chances for opportunities that increase a chance for yearly bonus and pay raise are based on favortism of sup. Good job for people who joke and have a sense of humor due to the fact they are fun to hang with and sups favors those types over people who work hard and devoted the cause.
