Pros

The main reason why I worked here for I felt like I was contributing to the fight against terrorism, the pay was decent and it's a good look working for the federal government. If your just looking for good pay with no college degree this is great for you!

Cons

It's too bad that the opportunities to get promoted are limited to connections, and a lot of your superiors don't even have college degrees but talk down on you and get paid very high salaries while someone with a master's can be in stuck in an entry level position because they didn't kiss up to the right person or someone higher up doesn't like them for whatever reason.

Pros

Benefits like Matching 401k up to 4%, Military Leave, Remote work, flexibility, and good supervisors.

Cons

Communication and room for growth. Each airport runs differently based on the FSD. You will hear mixed reviews. It depends on whether you work in the field or for HQs. There are opportunities to move up but you need to live near DC.

Pros

Easy job. Good benefits. Awesome coworkers. Part of the federal government.

Cons

- TERRIBLE management! There's a reason why the public hates TSA. It's not the officers on the floor, it's the upper level management that's giving this agency a bad name. It's an embarrassment how this agency is run by these so call "managers". The morale of this agency is so low and the only way to change that would be to clean house from the top down. - Low pay - Starting salary is only $15-16/hr and it's part time so unless you have another gig on the side, you'll probably struggle financially. - Schedule - Say good bye to your social and family life because chances are you'll work very early morning shifts (4am start time) when you're new. You'll never get weekends or holidays off. Vacation time has to be "bidded" every November so you have to plan your vacation a year in advance. God forbid if you ever need an unplanned day off. You'll accrue a lot of "sick" time but you can never use them without getting in trouble. -Favoritism - this goes hand in hand with the terrible management situation. They don't try to hide it so favoritism is blatantly clear on the floor or in the office. Unless you know someone up top, chances are you'll be on the hit list and can never move up the career ladder.
