Pros

Good pay and reasonable uniform allowance. Training is decent but subjective to efforts put in by local assistance.

Cons

Time off is hard to come by your first few years and locality changing when you move is rough.

Pros

Benefits are great. You will gain many transferable skills. There are opportunities to learn administrative aspects of the job such as payroll and scheduling.

Cons

The job can be redundant. The shift hours are awkward. Everything is seniority based so in the beginning you won’t have good days off or have good annual leave days.
