Not bad for a college student - but not my idea of a career

Pros

If you are a college student, TSA is a very good job since the pay is higher than most jobs you're likely to find. For someone needing full time employment, TSA is not a good option. Just something until you can find something better.

Cons

TSA officers are on their feet all day. Working in a very regimented environment (two 15 minute breaks in a 8 hour shift). Rigorous requalification testing, crappy raises, discipline/punishment for any deviations or lapses from procedures, poor prospects for advancement (unless you want to transfer and move to another city at your own expense). Then, there's passengers who think we are just an annoyance. Miserable job.

Supervisors ex military free job the don't do anything but complain they do absolutely nothing! but ruin your day!

Issuance is great. The pay is okay for whats being done. Some of the co-workers are really nice to work with.

Cons

The pay could be higher. You're always on pins and needles everyday. Promotions are not fair. A lot of favoritism. The seniority factor. Management is horrible.
