Pros

I love the people I work with...and the coffee of course. Starbucks offers great benefits to even part-time employees; including stock, health, vision, dental, 401k, and they help out with adoption. Promotions are fairly quick. I'm young, and this was "just a summer job", but I feel that there are so many opportunities within this company that I plan on staying with it for a while. I love that Starbucks is so invested in the community, and they really help out coffee bean farmers at a local level. I don't know of any other companies that conduct themselves this way, it truly is amazing. One of the best parts of the job is getting to know the regular customers. It's great to be able to make someone's drink before they order it.

Cons

Not everyone at my workplace is satisfied with the number of hours they are getting, but you can pick up hours at other locations, and it is necessary to have this many employees on due to availability, etc. Honestly, there are no aspects of this job that I dislike. I hear others complain about their jobs and I just can't empathize.

Pros

free coffee, flexible schedules, fun working with hourly employees, great co-workers

Cons

corporate culture based on relationships & personal feelings more than results, low pay (starting & merit increases), constantly shifting priorities (do this and then two weeks later here's a new priority), lack of support, asking questions is perceived as being negative, constant change in leadership (I had 6 bosses in less than 5 years), feedback not provided in a consistent and fair manner company is now stressing holding people accountable which means firing more people but the candidate flow of applicants to replace those fired is so poor because of uncompetitive pay

Pros

It's a very fun environment and people are allowed to be themselves while having fun with our customers. The schedules are flexible so that makes it easy to get appointments in or take a weekday off to for yourself.

Cons

The pay compensation hasn't been the best. Last year the blanket increase was 2% and that does not cover cost of living increases. I understand that the companys sales aren't the best at the moment, but there has been some cannibalization. Also, it seems like we are penalized to be in accordance with the amount of hours that we are allowed to have managers and shifts on the floor, even though you are managing costs and bringing more than targeted amount to the bottom line.
