Pros

Interesting work Pleasant co-workers and supervising attorneys Free coffee and espresso beverages all day long 30% discount in stores on purchases Free lb of packaged coffee each week Reasonable health benefits, although employee percentage of cost continues to rise If a fan of coffee, you have arrived at Mecca and can become a "coffee master" Product testing on site lets you sample new offerings before they become mainstream Management that really does let you ask anything you want at quarterly open house meetings

Cons

Lots of changes in management the past 2 years (President, US, President International, CEO, EVP's and more) Howard has cleaned house so few women in top leadership roles any more Employee stock options are miniscule. Annual bonus would be more welcomed. Employee stock purchase discount dropped to only 5%, making it nearly pointless. Some of heart and sole of company lost with long time staffers cut or forced out. Company isn't nearly as "cool" a place to work as it was 5 years ago. Seems more like just another job, with people looking out for themselves instead of their coworkers. Layoffs have disheartened many partners who were staunch supporters. Few speak glowingly of company any more.

Pros

Excellent benefits for part-time (at least 20 hours/week) employees including medical, dental, vision, 401 (k), paid time off, stock options, and even tution reimbursement. The company has a whole does its best to provide a sense of community and unity within its employees with regular store meetings, employee satisfaction surveys, etc. Very flexible hours. A 30% employee discount (40% around Christmastime). OKAY pay increases. Stores open around 5:00am and close around 12:00am, so there is a wide window for work availability.

Cons

If you work hard and are a perfectionist, you may find yourself getting extremely frustrated. This is a DIRTY job. You will sweat. You will hustle. You will panic. You will encounter some of the most obscene and disgusting messes. For three years, I often found myself cleaning up after other peoples' (nubes, lazies) messes. This work is the farest thing from rewarding. Upper management can be distant and condescending. If you end up working at least 20 hours a week at a busy store, you will be exhausted much of the time.
