Pros

- Great coworkers if you're lucky. I had the nicest manager and a fun team I could get along with. - Flexible schedule. Have to plan schedule 3 weeks ahead though. During summer or busy periods, it's easy to swap shifts. Not so much during winter or off-season. Also, you might be able to work at other stores if you need shifts. - Hourly pay is slightly more than minimum wage. - Can choose different benefits coverage to fit your needs. Dental, Physiotherapy etc.

Cons

- Coworkers can be challenging to work with so you feel like you're picking up their work. Always depends on store. - The work itself is physically exhausting. I'd want to not do anything after a shift. The store feels understaffed in the evenings and it's incredibly frustrating to work so much during busy times. Especially, a closing shift is more exhausting because you have to get a lot of closing tasks done by the time your shift ends. - Almost zero career growth. You might aim for the position of a shift supervisor and then an Assistant Store Manager but everybody wants that. It's a frustrating experience from what I hear. You get led on, carry hopes but get nowhere.
