Pros

Had a great manager and learned more relevant marketing skills than I did at other publishing companies. It is a less toxic environment than other publishers as well.

Cons

Don't expect any career growth unless you have a top level position and cozy up to the right person who can scratch your back in return. The workload will increase on you with no compensation or chance for growth.

Pros

- Springer Nature is forward looking and is definitely interested in making sure they develop in the direction the field is headed - Seems like they genuinely attempt to address employee concerns to some degree (with varying levels of success)

Cons

There’s a difference between working for Springer and working for Nature, no matter how many years it’s been since the merger. And the 2019 reorganization left some parts of the business developing more successfully than others.
