Pros

Intellectually stimulating and satisfying. Great place to work

Cons

Working in Springer is like going back to school as learnings are so intense so only people tuned in to learning from scratch can survive.

Pros

Good benefits. Can be very flexible. Great travel opportunites. Innovative business strategy. Stable environment. Staff genuinely care about authors and customers.

Cons

Large and unwieldy. Some people are dead weight. No upward mobility. Upper management an "old boys club". Poor communication.

Pros

Nice offices, (generally) friendly colleagues, interesting products

Cons

Very political, which means that obstructive / incompetent staff on friendly terms with the upper ranks is kept on while efficient, motivated staff are being let go to make the budget look better. No evident strategy, truly TRULY awful communication where essential information needs to be gleaned from snippets picked up somewhere in the hallways.
