Very friendly atmosphere, good team, good location, excellent work/life balance. Rarely stressful, everyone is quite supportive, no corporate feel, casual dress code

Cons

Pay is not adequate when you compare the same job in other companies, lack of opportunities to progress, lack of investment in developing and training existing employees.

Prestigious company and interesting journals. Other departments are generally very happy and have friendly staff. Childcare vouchers available and contributory pension scheme. Christmas party is good.

Cons

They hire graduates yet provide awful training, which results in a very poor probation success rate. There is little career progression available within the editorial sector unless you have a Ph.D., as this is a requirement of the editorial roles. Therefore, as a B.Sc. graduate, it is impossible to progress from a copy editor to an editor. The management is very disorganised yet tries to be very controlling. Very inflexible with working hours, which is unusual for London. Very high staff turnover as people generally do not work as copy editors for very long.
