Pros

Springer's a great company, especially with respect to benefits (time off, sick days, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) matching, annual bonuses, etc.). Health insurance in particular is incredibly inexpensive and very comprehensive. Hard work is recognized - and results are rewarded.

Cons

It can be difficult to move up though, and is pretty much entirely dependent on whether or not your direct boss likes you and is willing to fight for you. Editorial is paid less than any other department, which doesn't seem fair because Springer wouldn't have a product to sell if Editorial didn't exist. Marketing and Sales get the majority of Springer's salary dollars.

Pros

Nothing really, if you can avoid please do. HR is a puppet show and Senior Management is BS !!

Cons

Avoid their India division, selective senior guys have made a cartel and innocent employees are being targeted or thrown out just like me. Global guys are sitting blind.

Pros

Generally relaxed work, difficult with pressure from higher ups

Cons

Company has been getting increasingly stingy and doesn't pay for training, conferences, travel or team meals any more.

Thank you for sharing your views and disappointed to read your thoughts on team meals and colleague entertainment. We have extensive resources helping colleagues to keep on top of the latest thinking and have a career hub which shares tips and ideas for colleagues to learn and take ownership of their career. We look to travel a little less to reduce our environmental footprint and take responsibility for sustainability.
