Pros

Independent work and responsibility attain sales targets. Excellent healthcare program if the platinum level is selected for pre-tax salary deductions for the family. Interesting and extensive travel required for the job with a position covering between 5 US states and 2 countries. Good company reputation with clients. Many excellent people to work with.

Cons

Compensation program for sales is not up to standards for the industry. Commissions are not part of the compensation program. Bonus' is only paid formally one time per year, 4 months after the calendar year (fiscal year) ends. Base salary was approximately $25,000 below similar companies in the industry where I have worked. Inflexible business models that are out of date within the industry. Problematic CRM tool. High rate of turnover within support staff and outside sales. Limited opportunity. No additional bonus comp for inside sales support.

Near Complete Disarray

Pros

It would appear that satisfaction and compensation vary wildly by department, so some employees may be treated fairly. The summer hours are nice.

Cons

Nearly unanimous agreement in lack of adequate pay. Extremely poor communication between departments, offices, and levels of management. Constant turnover of employees at all levels. Poor morale. Promotion and department change are impossible without enthusiastic support from management. Healthcare options are expensive and mediocre. Office is plagued by nearby construction. Outsourcing of labor has made technical tasks unnecessarily difficult. Outdated equipment.

An Ok Company

Pros

The environment is very laid back and the people are very nice. For the most part you are left alone as long as you get your work done.

Cons

The expectations for signing books is very unrealistic. The company is mostly focused on quantity rather than quality, but complain about how the books are performing. Their goals have proven to be quite unattainable and you aren't rewarded for the other work you are doing, just the number of books you sign.
